Cayuga County Sheriff's Office Victim Specialist Program

The Fair Treatment Standards for Crime Victims is contained within Article 23 of the Executive Law. The purpose of that act is to ensure that the State’s criminal justice system has appropriate standards forthe treatment of innocent victims of crime. As a crime victim in NY State you have many rights, some of which are highlighted below. The County Sheriff's Office's Victim Specialist can assist you with learning about and exercising your rights as a crime victim.
